Dreamz~Fly: Hokkien-style

My dad finally surprised us.... I mean he always saying dat his colleague who who who brought him to where where where and how nice de food is n one day he will bring us to try.... but all of us know dat how long we need for de one day to come.... but today he finally brought us to one of de place for Hokkien cuisine....

The place is just right opposite Scott Garden, outside the post office... there are 2 hawker stall right outside de lorong, and v were like so dis is de place... not dat ulu oso wat... but then my dad said no no no..... he keep walking.. so v followed...

Who will knows there is actually a restaurant inside de lorong.... =.=''''

Okie... i will said dat is not so "modern" and more to family-style.... but dis make me more excited n cant wait to try de food..... XD i always love those old old type, family style n those since xxxx, which make me feel like their food should taste yum~~~ n dis din disappoint me.... :)

The 1st dish dat served is Zi Hun (薯粉), which is something like kuew teow but a but thicker n chewy... they style they cook is very traditional hokkien style, more to sweety taste...

My mum favorite vege.. always when the restaurant ppl said they hv Fan Shu Ye （番薯叶）, my mum will make sure it is the long n big 1, not de miao....

Spring roll （春卷）... the tauke shou said v r very lucky as the spring roll is just freshly made... the pi is so crispy, n de lok ba inside not too salty. so good if go with beer... :p

Cha Bei Ge (白糕), for those who loved korean food, this dish is like de Fried Nian Gao, but Hokkien style hv no kimchi n is not spicy... ours 1 used soy sauce n fried with prawn, pork n vege...

Donno how should i call this in english... 碱水糕+猪肉.... is a bit like our chinese nian gao but more sweet n not so sticky... the pork is really well cooked, not hard at all, n wont stick in the gap of ur teeth....

The star dish... i heard like each n every table oso ordered for this ginger&garlic steam fish head... my papa keep saying this hv to be eaten when it's hot... so just when this is putted on de table, we all stop eating others, just focus on this until it is finished... but truly... the ginger n garlic is so fresh n the fish hv no smell at all... really yummmm~~~
